Inoltre, l'installazione e la rimozione di una guarnizione della testata difettosa spesso non sono prive di rischi. Questo perch\u00e9 i motori a combustione, in particolare le testate, si \"deformano\" con il tempo e con l'aumentare del chilometraggio. Questo accade a causa degli elevati carichi termici e meccanici a cui un motore a combustione \u00e8 esposto nel corso degli anni. La sola sostituzione della guarnizione della testata spesso non \u00e8 sufficiente. La testa del cilindro deve essere rettificata in modo da appoggiare sulla nuova guarnizione della testata. I costi aggiuntivi sono elevati e il conto della riparazione supera rapidamente le migliaia di
