Steel Seal instructions
- Make sure that the engine is cold and that the Cooling system existing coolant is clean. Remove the radiator cap and fill the recommended amount of Steel Seal® directly into the radiator. Screw the cap tight again. (On vehicles without a radiator cap, Steel Seal® can be filled via the expansion tank*).
- Set the heater and fan in the driver's cab to the highest setting, start the engine and wait until it reaches full operating temperature in idle mode. Then allow the engine to idle for a further 30 minutes. Switch the engine off again to allow it to cool down completely (min. 6 hours). Observe the temperature during the entire application (see engine temperature display on the dashboard) and switch it off immediately if it threatens to overheat at any time!
- If necessary, top up with fresh coolant up to the indicated mark on the coolant reservoir. Simply leave Steel Seal® in the cooling system and continue driving the vehicle as usual!
If you follow the Steel Seal instructions step by step, the problem with the Cylinder head gasket and, as a rule, nothing should stand in the way of continuing your journey. Have a safe journey!
