Richie had noticed a loss of cooling water in spring 2023. However, after replacing the water pump and thermostat, the loss of water persisted. A CO2 coolant test then turned out positive, i.e. exhaust gases (CO2) were detected in the cooling system.

Fill the recommended amount of Steel Seal® into the cooling system of your engine via the radiator or expansion tank.

Warm up

Switch on the heater & fan and let the engine warm up to operating temperature and then for another 30 minutes.

Switch off the engine, allow it to cool down completely and continue driving your vehicle as usual.
