Customer experiences with Steel Seal®
Overpressure in the cooling system
VW Sharan, 1.9 TDI 96 kW (130PS), year of construction: 2007
Peter had noticed severe overpressure in the cooling system of his VW Sharan and was losing approx. 1 liter of coolant per 100 km.
1 bottle of Steel Seal filled into the cooling system according to the instructions for use.
Pressure in the cooling system normalized immediately after application and the loss of coolant was stopped.
After more than 4 years, Peter is still driving with the original engine of his VW Sharan and without dismantling. Steel Seal has permanently repaired the damage to his cylinder-head gasket.
BMW 3 Series E46, year of construction: 2005
During a routine check, Fritz noticed oil in the coolant tank and shortly afterwards compression pressure in the cooling system of his BMW E46.
After rinsing the cooling system with clear water, 1 bottle of Steel Seal was filled with fresh, pure cooling water in accordance with the instructions.
Immediately after the application, both the high compression pressure and the oil disappeared from the cooling system.
Long-term experience
The cooling system has been clean for 18 months and the BMW E46 is back on the road without any new symptoms. Without dismantling or replacing engine parts.
Changing the cylinder head gasket involves risks
The costly and time-consuming mechanical replacement of the cylinder head gasket in a specialized workshop also involves certain risks in older vehicles with high mileage. Unfortunately, these often go unmentioned. For example, hairline cracks in the cylinder head often remain undetected or warped cylinder heads have to be painstakingly ground flat ...
Oil in the cooling water and high pressure in the cooling system
Exhaust gases in the cooling system and loss of cooling water
SEAT Ibiza, 1.2 Petrol 51kW (69PS), year of construction 2011
Richie had noticed a loss of cooling water in his Seat Ibiza. After replacing the water pump and thermostat, the loss of water persisted. A CO2 exhaust gas test in the cooling system was then positive, i.e. exhaust gases (CO2) were detected.
1 bottle of Steel Seal filled into the cooling system according to the instructions for use.
Positive. Another CO2 test remained negative. No more exhaust gases were detected in the cooling system after the application of Steel Seal. The loss of coolant was also stopped.
After 8 months and approx. 25,000 kilometers driven, there is still no cooling water loss.

1

The engine must be cold. Fill the correct amount of Steel Seal® into the cooling system via the radiator or expansion tank.
2
Warm up the engine
Switch on the heater & blower, let the engine warm up while stationary and allow it to reach operating temperature for a further 30 minutes.
3
Drive on relaxed
Switch off the engine, allow it to cool down completely and then continue driving your vehicle as usual.
Symptom check: Does your car have any of the following symptoms?
White smoke from the exhaust
White smoke from the exhaust is produced when cooling water enters the combustion chamber via a leak in the cylinder head gasket and burns there with the fuel. Water vapor is produced. Steel Seal® seals the leak and restores the seal.
Oil in the cooling water
Oil in the cooling water impairs the cooling performance, while cooling water in the oil reduces the lubricity of the engine oil. This oil-water emulsion leads to extreme wear and threatens serious engine damage within a very short time. As long as the engine is still running, Steel Seal® can completely repair this damage on the cooling water side.
Cooling water loss
In most cases, coolant loss due to a leaking cylinder head gasket occurs without any noticeable leakage and often begins gradually. It remains undetected until the coolant level indicator lights up and coolant needs to be topped up. The earlier the problem is tackled with Steel Seal®, the greater the chances of a permanent seal and the greater the savings on high repair costs.
Motor overheats
A briefly overheated engine is often the cause of a crack in the cylinder head or a blown head gasket. Steel Seal® seals the leak permanently and saves the costly replacement of the cylinder-head gasket in the workshop.
